JASTRO Gold Medal Award

JASTRO Gold Medal is given in honor of excellent scientific work, enormous contribution within JASTRO to the field of education and promotion of radiation oncology as a discipline.

◆Refer to Article 2 of the internal regulations.
The JASTRO Board decides on the recipient of the award.
Article 2 At the end of the fiscal year, any individual who had made contribution to the society can be recommended。
(1) An individual who have made remarkable achievements in research or education in radiation oncology and other related fields
(2) To those who made a significant contribution to the spread and development of clinical radiation oncology and clinical applications related fields
(3) An individual who made a great contribution to the development of the society of radiation oncology through the organization and its activities.
(4) A researcher of foreign nationality who made a great contribution to the development of the Society through international exchang

JASTRO INTERNATIONAL Honorary Membership

Honorary Membership is awarded to people who have made a significant contribution to the achievement of the goals of the Society particularly in the field of interdisciplinary or international co-operation.

(4) Researchers of foreign birth who have greatly contributed to the society’s development can receive a reccommendation, regardless of your years of membership or age.

Umegaki Award

Umegaki Award is named after Prof.Yoichiro Umegaki one of the founding fathers of JASTRO,etablished in 1995 to encourage the publication of research related to cancer treatment and actively further the careers of young researchers. Academic papers on radiology oncology published in an article between January 1st and December 31st of the previous exam year by young researchers (under the age of 40), that includes basic or clinical significant research or a pioneered research that is expected to develop further in the future.

Abe Award

Abe Award is named after Prof. Mitsuyuki Abe one of the founding fathers of JASTRO,was established in 2004 to encourage to the work of JASTRO Recipients Studies on the technical improvement of radiation therapy, optimization, establishment of standard therapy (meaning in a broad sense including clinical research, biological research, physics research, etc.), those that have already made great achievements or are pioneering those expected to develop great success in the future.
